Bookings are now being accepted for the 2010 Scottish Cycling Commissaires Seminar which will be held on Sunday 28 February 2010 at the Perth Racecourse. The seminar is free to attend for commissaires at all levels and booking closes on 12 February 2010.

Please spread the word on the seminar with the centre committee & commissaires. If you’ve already done this, thank you!

The seminar will focus on updating commissaires of all disciplines of developments relating to matters affecting them as a commissaire and will address many of the issues highlighted during the recent audit of commissaires carried out by the Scottish Cycling Commissaires Commission. The seminar will be particularly appropriate for commissaires who have not attended any refresher courses for some time and/or those who only officiate within their own Centre, in addition to the more experienced officials.

The morning session will start with an overview of the newly formed Scottish Cycling Commissaire Commission, providing information on its function, what has been done so far and what is planned. As this is the first seminar held for a number of years, a refresher on the role and functions of a commissaire will be held, highlighting good practice across all the disciplines.

Continuing the theme of keeping up to date, update sessions will be held in relation to recent technical regulation changes and also the BC Commissaires Conference. There will also be an opportunity to hear further about the new training qualifications and opportunities for continuing development as a commissaire.

The afternoon will focus on investigating what makes a great commissaire through discussion of 'best practice' models that are common across all cycling disciplines. No doubt this session will also highlight areas of common issues which can then be investigated further.

The afternoon will conclude with preliminary information on plans for officials and volunteers at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and an opportunity for open discussion on any other matters you wish to raise.

Throughout the day there will be plenty of opportunity to speak informally and network with other colleagues over coffee and lunch, all of which will be provided free of charge.
The seminar will run from 9.30am and is scheduled to conclude by 4.30pm.

A booking form is attached and can also be downloaded on the SC website via the link below and should be returned to me via email or post by 12th February 2010.
